A POLICE dog with a nose for Apple products and a hairdresser with no pants proved that heroes come in all shapes and sizes in a recent arrest of three thieves.
Edge Hill hairdresser Ed Manier used GPS tracking on both his iPhone and iPad to help police find a host of electrical items and his four-wheel-drive, which was stolen from his home while he and his family slept.
“At about 3.45am I got up to go to the toilet … when I came out I saw that the car was gone,” he said.
“I went looking for my phone which was in the room where I was sleeping when I realised it was gone too, and my iPad.
“I rang 000 and give a description of the car and the number plate, and as I walked out I saw the car drive past.”
